I’ve posted several times in the past about paper making and using hand made papers in various craft and scrapbooking projects. While I was visiting my Mother last week, she and my sister showed me some of their recent projects. I’ve got to say, since I taught them about papermaking, they’ve really taken off with that craft!
I personally love making paper. I love the texture of it and the appearance when I add hand painted things to it, like flowers, scenery, or butterflies. Making paper isn’t difficult. You just need a few common supplies to get you started. Once your paper is dry, then you can move into embellishing it for use on greeting cards, scrapbooking, or even wall art. Of course, any paper you make for scrapbooking needs to be made from acid free materials so your photographs won’t be damaged.
Now, there’s a contest from Christine. She is offering a great device that I’d love to own. It’s a Tag-A-Long Starter Kit from Sizzix/Ellison Design! I could use this little machine to create even more embellishments for my hand made paper greeting cards and scrapbook pages. This has got to be the most fun contest I’ve ever entered! And a prize like that could open up my creative juice flow immensely!
Paper is one of my favorite crafting mediums. Quilling, making paper, weaving with paper - all these are great fun and even help to reduce waste that might wind up in landfills.
