Anyone who is interested in monetizing their blog would do well to read the posts on the USWeb blog. They are full of information about Blogitive, plus other information that you would find very useful.

USWeb gives bloggers a chance to write paid posts that flow with the author’s blog content. Payment is $5 per post, which can add up nicely.

Currently, Forward Thinking isn’t monetized but I do have other blogs that are and I’ve made a tidy bit of money through Blogitive and other paid-to-post companies, which I work on with my other blogs.

Perhaps, one day, I’ll monetize this blog as well.

What I’m about to share with you is easy-peasy, but only applies to your own hosted WordPress blog. I know this works on GoDaddy.

First, open My Computer from your desktop. In the address bar, type your ftp address, which will look something like ftp://mydomain.com. That will open all the files on your blog. After that, all you have to do is drag downloaded files from your desktop over to the appropriate location in your WordPress files.

I’m going to be experimenting a bit to see how this works on other domains. Let me know if you try it, and if you were successful.

If you’re like me, you’re wanting to drive more traffic to your site and you want to know the best way possible to do that. DataStronghold.com has some useful articles including this one focusing on Digg.com. They give you four good points to help drive traffic as well as a caveat concerning the traffic.

“Keep in mind if you do make the frontpage of digg.com the traffic will be heavy and brief, most of the time it will last less then a day, but 50 000 people may make it through to your site in that amount of time.”
