Sometimes it’s hard for me to really admit that I’m in the senior age bracket. I’ll be 56 on my next birthday, and while that really isn’t that old, every morning my stiff joints attest to the fact that I’m no spring chicken.

One of the great difficulties of being a widow at this age is finding suitable companionship for going out. For instance, just last week was our county fair, but I didn’t want to go alone so I just didn’t go. This is the time in my life when a senior dating service could be very helpful. Since I work full time and don’t belong to any organizations, I’m having a hard time meeting someone that I could go to events with.

I’d like to find a good senior match for myself. A gentleman who isn’t demanding or possessive, but who is willing to go out occasionally as a friend. DatingForSeniors.com might just be the place to find someone like that.

I’ve just finished browsing the site and doing a search. It’s all very easy to use and it’s free to sign up for, so maybe I’ll be fortunate enough to find the gentleman I’m looking for there. So, Brandon and I got ready for work and went there. When we got to the store at 4:30 AM, another manager was already there and asked what we were doing there so early.

As it turned out, we were NOT supposed to be at work to open after all. The old schedule had us listed to open today, but a new one had apparently been posted and the other manager was scheduled instead.

I’m to be at work at 7 AM and Brandon goes in at 5 PM. He’ll be able to sleep the rest of the day now, but not so for me. At this hour, there’s not really time to get in even a nap. I’ll have to stay awake and leave here at 6:30 AM to be there by 7. I think I get off at 2 or 3 PM, but maybe someone will have mercy on me and let me come home earlier.

I’ll be off early enough to come home and get Brandon, take him back to work, come home again, and hope he can find a ride home when he’s done, which will probably be almost opening time Monday morning! That’s a lot of travel for today especially considering that I’ve already driven there and back once. Altogether, I’ll drive about 90 miles today. Sheesh.

I have a few games on board this laptop that I enjoy. I’ve noticed over the years, though, that so many sites don’t have games or other downloads for Mac. I’ve never really understood why not.

So now, if you have a Mac you can download mac games. I thought that was really good news since historically downloads seem to be limited to PCs so much of the time. These games are shareware and freeware, so if you have a Mac OS you can probably find something you’ll enjoy. There are games for children, educational games, logic, casino, even action and adventure games, so nobody is left out.

Besides the free games, prices range from $10 and up. There are over 150 games listed!

I just woke up and decided to see what’s going on in cyberspace. My laptop wouldn’t come on! I started getting nervous, wondering what happened to it while I was asleep.

Every time I’d push the on button, it would click a little, then nothing. Yikes! What happened?!

I finally got awake enough to figure out the problem. The cord was unplugged from the socket just a little, so all the time I was on here last night the battery was depleting. Getting it plugged in securely got it going again. Whew!

My mind was imagining all kinds of things. How I’d have to take it to be looked at, and wondering if the warranty covered whatever was wrong with it. If not, how much would it cost to fix? Could data be recovered from it? Would I have to buy another laptop so soon?

I even started thinking how glad I was I didn’t already get hooked up with ATT/Yahoo! because now I wouldn’t be able to use that until I got the laptop issues resolved.

The mind sure does go off in a lot of directions when something like this happens, doesn’t it?
