Bloggers unite against abuse
There are all kinds of abuse in the world. When bloggers unite to try to make an end of any kind of abuse, the results can be astounding. It’s time now for us to all unite and put an end to abuse. This was the birth of Bloggers Unite Against Abuse. You can read more by clicking the Bloggers Unite badge.
Anyone who has been the victim of domestic violence knows too well the repercussions of this kind of abuse. Women especially are vulnerable to this probably due to their inborn sense of needing to stick it out and to help the abuser get better. Sadly, it rarely happens that abusive men ever improve.
Women in this situation become held hostage by their own belief that somehow they deserved what they got, whether it is physical abuse, mental abuse, or emotional abuse. They get to a point where they make excuses for the abuser and it’s very difficult to convince them that they really don’t deserve the punishment that’s been inflicted upon them.
I say, stop the abuser. Law enforcement has, for too long, let abusers slide and often the wife or girlfriend pays the price with her very life. It may be that the woman hides the abuse from close friends and relatives that could rescue her. She may blame herself for what has befallen her.
It’s up to us, those who care for the woman, to help her to understand that she is a worthwhile and valuable individual and that she does NOT deserve the treatment she’s gotten. Do you know someone now that you suspect may be the victim of domestic abuse? Encourage her and help her see her value as a woman - as a human. Help her to get away from her abuser and understand that it’s ok to feel sad or even that she’s failed for a short time, but that of utmost importance is her safety and well-being.
It is incumbent upon us all to reach out to those who cannot aide themselves.
