I’m going to be trying to develop an incentives program for the store I work at. I’ll include things like Employee of the Month and other awards to help incent the crew to do a better job, follow correct procedures, show up to work on time and every time, and always follow our policies regarding their uniforms and other things.

I probably can’t give away Akoya pearls to those whose job performance warrants an award, but I can give out Arch Cards in varying amounts, lapel pins, and free meals. People thrive on recognition. When the higher-ups recognize someone for their achievements, it helps spur the person on to continue in the good job they began. Those who put out the effort really do deserve some kind of award, anyway, since there are others who won’t display any kind of progress or ambition no matter what you do to encourage them. There are always some who take up the slack for the others, and they deserve to be rewarded for it.

It’s definite. I’m going to start an eBay store soon and heaven help us all here when I do. I tend to have a one-track-mind when it comes to projects like this. I really think I can earn some money, but mostly, selling on eBay is just plain fun. I wind up focusing on taking pictures, writing interesting listing descriptions, and setting up the auctions to the point that my family begins to think I need addiction treatment so I can participate in other activities.

Still, it really is a lot of fun and I think I have a good source of valuable products I can list in an eBay store at good prices.

There are a lot of bills I can pay online, and I like that convenience. I really wish everyone that I pay would take payments online. I can buy online car insurance and pay for it online, but I can’t pay my water bill online. Instead, I have to drive about 15 miles or remember to mail it through the Post Office.

I get so caught up in my work schedule that I often forget about the bills I have to mail out. Doing that means sitting down, writing out checks, filling out envelopes, and buying stamps. It also means taking longer to get the paying done! I’d much rather just point and click, wouldn’t you?

Sound good? It’s a large, international corporation.

You know it locally as McDonald’s. It’s not the same interim job you used to know. It’s not the job that losers and high-school dropouts thought it would be. Expectations are higher than ever. It’s now a job that requires employees who are hard working individuals with an eye toward their own futures. If you aren’t interested in becoming part of one of the largest corporations on the planet, and working toward maintaining a high level of quality and customer service, then maybe you should apply elsewhere. I hear Taco Bell is hiring.
