You know, something that’s really a lot of fun is receiving products and reviewing them right here at home. I get something for free and often find a new product that I’ll be shopping for. Needless to say, Brandon likes trying these products out as well.

As always, I give my honest opinion of the products, as I’ve been asked to do, and you are the beneficiary because you know I’m going to tell you the truth about them.

So, today I went to the Post Office and there was a package waiting for me. I know Christmas has just passed, but I’m just like a kid when it comes to opening packages from the Post Office or UPS. This time was no different. In the package were two jars of Grey Poupon mustard! One is Hearty Spicy Brown mustard, which is great on roast beef sandwiches or Reuben sandwiches. It’s also delicious with venison and other wild game. Yeah, I’ve used it before and love it.

The other is Harvest Coarse Ground mustard, a wonderful and zippy accompaniment to all kinds of meat dishes, including what we had for supper tonight.

Although, I only fixed packaged stroganoff and green beans, I actually made some burger patties to put in the stroganoff instead of crumbling it all up. When we plated the food, we added a dollop of the Grey Poupon Harvest Coarse Grind mustard and used it on the patties. Wow! This stuff was so delicious just eaten as the meat accompaniment. The texture and flavor added dimension to what would have been just an ordinary, fast-fix meal.

These are both now going to be regulars in my pantry. Probably the only thing I have against them is that I want larger jars!

We all have a proclivity toward certain fields of endeavor. Even when we think we are totally talent or gift free, we actually do have a bent we can follow in our careers. The thing is, we might not have the proper training in it to really make a go of it. It’s been about a year or so since I got my prescription glasses, but I feel as though my eyesight is getting worse. This means getting new glasses. This time, though, after I have the examination, I can go to ZenniOptical.com for their Great Discovery: $ 8 Zenni Optical Rx Eyeglassess.

My glasses cost me well over $150, not counting the exam. It was free because my daughter works for an ophthalmologist. I got bifocals then and probably still need them now. I can get bifocals from ZenniOptical.com for so much less I really can’t afford to pass that deal up. I like the style I already have, which is very similar to what’s pictured below. Since they manufacture their own frames, I’m not having to buy something with a designer name and a high price tag on it. Designer names really don’t interest me, but saving money surely does!

I think our workplace has some of the most innovative technology around to keep track of sales and serve our customers better. We use touch screen POS equipment which helps us to be able to train crew members more easily, even though there are certainly a lot of options available through the system. We can take a meal order and fine tune it to suit just that customer’s tastes.

This system also keeps track of all money issues, drawer changes, overrings, cashless purchases, refunds, and promotional codes so we know exactly what amount of money each drawer should have after the base change is removed. It keeps track of all our labor costs, employee records, ordering, bill paying for the store, and connects with our supervisor and others higher up so we can get help when we need it in an area.

Tied in with this whole system is a video surveillance system. Our supervisor and others above him can watch the goings-on inside and outside the store. It also displays video in our store office of all those same areas - drive-through traffic, lobby, assembly area, stockroom, back sink area, and both drive-through windows. It helps managers ascertain where a problem may exist and facilitates correcting the problem.

Not all of our system equipment is new, though. It’s possible it was brought from other stores or that it was purchased through a company like IT Planet. I’m not privy to those details, but knowing that IT Planet exists could help me promote it to my supervisor when we need new equipment, since they supply all the kinds of things that we use daily.
